Between the rich food, warm lighting, and sultry, jazz-inspired music that come with the season, the mood of romance is a natural part of this time of year. So why not take advantage? Here are some suggestions for how to make great cookies with your significant other this time of year.
Go on a weekend trip!- There is something about stepping away from the ordinary into a new environment that fosters intimacy and romance in ways that simply cannot. So jump in a car or board a plane and skip town at some point this Holiday season. Whether the location is near or far is irrelevant, as long as it captures the charm of the season.
During the trip, be active. Go sledding, snowmobiling, skiing, hiking, ice-skating, or simply go for walks with your significant other. In addition to raising your energy and serotonin levels, which can improve your sense of enjoyment during the weekend, the activities will also give you and your partner opportunities to talk and laugh together, as you build memories. Furthermore, the adrenaline from shared physical activity may enhance the sensual energy between yourself and your partner, for use during the evening portions of your get-away.
Invite your partner to a holiday gathering- Office parties, family gatherings, and friends' parties offer excellent opportunities to introduce your significant other to other aspects and people in your life. If your partner has already been introduced, the Holidays are a great time to increase exposure and comfort between themselves and others in your life.
Cook together!-Cooking with a significant other is a great activity for building intimacy for numerous reasons. It gives each of you an opportunity to discuss your likes and dislikes, as well as the opportunity to use your hands and prudent planning to please the other. During your cooking escapades, try new recipes. Make sensual, delicious treats for you both to share.
Take Holiday Fun shots- Life is about having FUN! So if there is a high level of trust and comfort in your relationship, why not take sexy pictures inspired by the Holiday season to give as a gift to your partner? Role-play anyone?
Go window shopping- Not everything in this season has to be about actually giving and receiving gifts. And let’s be honest: it’s a recession. That’s why we would like to suggest window shopping as an excellent way to build intimacy. During window shopping, as couples stroll the mall or street, they can hold hands and look at the decorative and seasonal lights, all the while talking to their partner about the things they like, and learning what their partner cares for as well. Window shopping can be a wonderful, budget-friendly way to get to know your partner better and to spend time with him or her.
Talk about the blessings of the past year and what you are looking forward to in the next-Reflecting on the past year and stating hopes for the upcoming year will give you both an opportunity to share what’s important to you, and what your goals are. It also gives you both an opportunity to express appreciation for the other, and expectations for the relationship in the future.
Host a joint dinner party for your friends-Hosting a joint holiday party will give you and your partner the opportunity to cook and plan together. This is an excellent way to see how the other works, and to foster teamwork and collaboration. It can also give you both the opportunity to get to know each other’s friends better.
